Thank you for visiting Dance Alive.

We see a lot of Latin Dance on television lately in shows such as "Dancing with the Stars" and "So You Think You Can Dance". These are great shows that do a lot to develop interest in dancing, and even more to create a career path for Australia's best dancers.

The concern I had however, was that these shows do not always stay true to the genre. Salsa in particular is usually danced to rock music, which makes no sense because Salsa is a style of music that you dance to, rather than a style of dance in itself. If you are not dancing Salsa to Salsa music then you are not dancing Salsa!

Latin Dance Alive was developed to show each style in a way that is true to the genre. Each episode is entertaining and informative without becoming didactic.

I have had the pleasure of working with some of Australia's leading dance schools, who have created 13 shows that  develop interest in authentic Latin Dance in Australia.

I have also had the pleasure of working with a great team of people at Mindfor Studios who have put this show together. Our series hosts Yvonne Goldsmith and Sherylane McLeod were a dream to work with.

Lastly the most important thank you, to the Director, Editor, Catering Manager, Creative genius and Auntie to the whole team - Sylvi Soe.  Without your technical and personal genius this show would not have happened.
